The New Face of AlaskaWriters.com
The do-it-yourself, classic AlaskaWriters updateable website packages are still available and are still a good idea for the freelance journalist or independent author who does not want to spend a lot of time or money making a site. However, if you are not yet published or are most interested in a website because you want to be a blogger, I encourage you to investigate the many free blogging and social networking options that currently exist—and then plug into the AlaskaWriters community as a supporting member. I will do my part to provide more information on these exciting options in the months to come.
I am not currently in a position to offer services as a writing coach. It has been hard to say no lately, because some very strong candidates have recently come my way, but I just do not have the time that it takes to do the job justice. I am sorry. Check back, and perhaps the time will be right.
Members may still update their websites by scrolling down to the “Edit Your Site” link, which is now on the bottom right of the home page. Some older material has already been entered into the new format. Some archived materials, including book covers and tips and interviews from the site’s first years, have yet to be pulled over. Others may stay right where they are. If you can’t find something you just loved, try a search, or e-mail me at . I’m pretty sure I’ve got it here somewhere…
*Promotions include periodic news items on your publications and activities, as well as listings of your book cover, book name and your name, with a link to your site-- or the publishing house/book store site of your choice.
A note on reciprocal links: I do not do reciprocal links except in the rarest of instances—like if you were to prove we are actually long-long sisters, or donated some vital body organ that saves my life—or (heaven forfend!) you actually contributed content my site can use.
