TAM LINSEY, Contest Coordinator

Born and raised in Alaska, Tam Linsey has tackled many unusual jobs, including selling moose “nugget” jewelry, running a computer engraver, and grafting fruit trees for the High North. An avid gardener, Tam raises food crops most Alaskans would never dream of growing. After realizing plans to become a biomedical engineer might result in life in a lab, Tam graduated from Willamette University in 1992 with a B.S. in English. A member of RWA since 2007, Tam is currently the secretary of the Alaska chapter as well as the moderator for the monthly session on the craft of writing.

In 1993, DeNise Woods came to Alaska to stay a year. She didn't leave, she got lucky (read what you will into that pun).  She now reads as much as possible, gardens, and keeps 'Mr. Lucky' in homemade bread. She thinks writing is like life, so she keeps notes.

Jennifer Bernard

Jennifer Bernard dreamed of being a writer ever since she learned the letter ‘A.’ After earning her BA in History and Literature, she began writing nightly promos for local TV news, which led to her move to Los Angeles, where she worked for the NBC affiliate. In December 2006, Jennifer finally found her true writing love: romance! Around the same time, she decided to leave Los Angeles for the frozen North. Now she lives in Homer, Alaska, with frequent trips to the Big Island of Hawaii. She writes contemporary romance, but also publishes erotic romance under the name Juniper Bell. She's represented by Alexandra Machinist of Janklow and Nesbit Associates. Her three book series The Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel will be released by Avon starting in late April, 2012.

Chinook, Wine and Sink Her is set in Alaska

Born in New Orleans, raised in California, Morgan moved with her family to Alaska in 1977. With a few years of escape back to California for college and more recently a few years in Colorado, Alaska is where she’s remained ever since. Married to a born and raised Alaskan, it is unlikely she’ll ever get to move “Outside” again. This could account for some of the oddities and attitudes in her writing. Or maybe that was the two years she worked with laser physicists. Or growing up around engineers. Or maybe it’s just her never ending imagination and the really strange dreams she has each night.
These days, Morgan is fortunate to spend her days engaged in writing, when she’s not tormenting her teen aged son, or knitting and critting with the AKRWA critique group. Morgan also blogs with her writing partner at The Morgan Diaries http://themorgandiaries.blogspot.com Visit her Web site for a list of all her networking and publishing links.

Maxine Mansfield

Hi, my name is Maxine Mansfield and I write fantasy erotic romances for the scarlet line of THE WILD ROSE PRESS. I love this far northern state of Alaska where the summer days are long and the winter nights even longer. I have one very special man, his three equally special children, and our five delightful grandchildren in my life. Not to mention a very bossy African Grey parrot named Gabriel. Oh, and Gnomes! Many, many gnomes.

Lizbeth Selvig writes fun, heartwarming contemporary romantic fiction for Avon books. Her debut novel, The Rancher and the Rock Star, was released in 2012. Her second, Rescued By A Stranger is available now. Liz lives in Minnesota (and misses terribly her years living in Alaska) with her best friend (aka her husband), a hyperactive border collie named Magic and a gray Arabian gelding named Jedi. After working as a newspaper journalist and magazine editor, and raising an equine veterinarian daughter and a talented musician son, Lizbeth entered Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart® contest in 2010 with The Rancher and the Rock Star (then titled Songbird) and won the Single Title Contemporary category. In her spare time, she loves to hike, quilt, read, horseback ride, and play with her four-legged grandchildren, of which there are nearly twenty, including a wallaby, an alpaca, a donkey, a pig, two sugar gliders, and many dogs, cats and horses (pics of all appear on her website www.lizbethselvig.com). She loves connecting with readers! Find her on Facebook (LizbethSelvigAuthor) and Twitter (@lizbethselvig).

Lynn Lovegreen lives in Anchorage

Click here to visit Lynn's Web site

Lynn Lovegreen was lucky enough to grow up in Alaska. Her family was stationed there when she was six, and they fell in love with the place. Alaska’s been home ever since. She’s always felt the power of words; she taught English for 20 years before retiring to make more time for writing. When not writing, she loves to spend time with family and friends, read, travel, and shoot at targets with her cowboy action shooting club, the Alaska 49ers. Her young adult historical romances are set in the Alaska Gold Rush, a great time for drama, romance, and independent characters who made their own way in the world. Her books are published by Prism Book Group. You can find her on Facebook and Pinterest.
